Transition to cleaner electrical energy
Summary
Promoting Electric Vehicles (EVs) as a solution for clean transportation for City and private vehicles are also an example of a multi-benefit solution. EV batteries, in combination with solar, can store and provide backup energy storage in the event of grid disruption. The City will also encourage fuel switching to consume cleaner energy in all buildings. Transitioning more of our electricity grid from natural gas to electricity is critical for combatting climate change and will also stimulate investment in the local economy.
