"Fresh Life": Low-cost, high-quality sanitation facilities

Summary

At the heart of this solution is the "Fresh Life" container-based toilets. These toilets have removable containers for human waste, which makes for easy periodic removal. This is a drastic improvement from other sanitation methods in developing communities (i.e. open defecation). Overtime, Sanergy has utilized a design thinking approach to improve their user's satisfaction. From feedback, the Sanergy team was able to determine that adding hand washing and mirrors would greatly increase the quality of these toilets.
