Characterization of bacteria and their resistance properties

Summary

Fast and reliable diagnostic methods are indispensable tools for the detection and prevention of antimicrobial resistance. The parties to this focal point of research groups (clinical and veterinary laboratories and national reference laboratories) investigate the occurrence and genetic relationships of ESBL-producing and (fluoro) quinolone-resistant Enterobacteriaceae. Selected strains of all project partners are here characterized with modern molecular methods and compared.
